Over the weekend of the 15th and 16th of July, the annual St Ives Carnival was held. The weather over the weekend was mixed and cool with rain showers.

The event opened at 12:00 with a procession of floats that travelled down Ramsay road, through the centre of town and on to Warners Park where the Carnival was held. The procession was lead by the Carnival Princess, eight year old Teresa Coulson. Following behind the Carnival Princess were the Majorettes, seen here parading down The Waits. |

It consisted of a number of floats, constructed by local groups such as the Scouts, playgroups, schools, clubs etc. This Hawaiin theme school float won the prize for best float overall. |

Cruella Deville (Debbie Hutton) added some spice to the procession. Noddy and Big Ears were present too, in their toyland car. |

The Camping and Caravanning Society paraded their Folk Music Group. The Cambridge Evening News brought out their vintage delivery van. |

Once the parade had reached Warners Park the prizes for best floats were awarded by the mayor Councillor John Davies and the Carnival princess Teresa Coulson. The rest of the day was filled with activities including the fun-fair and arena entertainment such rodeo and circus events. Food and drink was plentiful and a number of charity and trade fair stalls were available to round off the day's enjoyment. |

Sunday 16th was a day for music in the park. It was an opportunity for local bands to come and play to friendly crowds, as well as a number of invited bands including: Band of Babies, Flash Monkeys, Higher Ground, One O One Proof, Katoorah Jayne, Pale for a Day, Boogie Nights and Clockwork.
